Do It All Mamma

Hello all! I am a mom to three very active teenagers, two energetic mini-schnauzers, and one grumpy kitty. Some days it feels impossible to work all day, taxi kids around, prepare a meal, squeeze in a workout, walk the dog, AND tackle the additional 327 items on your to-do list! I would love to share my successes and failures in hopes of making your day-to-day life a little easier – from recipes to vacations and everything in between!

New Durham/Boston vacation – July 2015

New Durham/Boston July 2015

We took our second trip to the family lakehouse on Merrymeeting Lake in New Hampshire the July of 2015.  We did a LOT of boating, tubing, and swimming that vacation.   We were there over the 4th of July and were able to watch the local firework show from our boat on the water.  It was a beautiful show and so easy – no traffic to deal with or the other headaches of attending big firework shows.  Our kids were 16, 15, and 12 for this vacation.

The Funspot arcade in Laconia, NH is one day trip we have repeated several times (mostly when the weather wasn’t cooperating for water activities). It is the largest arcade in the world and is full of vintage games!  They also offer candlestick bowling, food, and drinks.   It is always a hit for the whole family (www.funspotnh.com).

We got lucky during our visit to Hampton Beach and stumbled upon a sand sculpture contest – so impressive!  If you ever get the opportunity to see sand sculptures, I’d recommend it, especially if it’s free J  While at Hampton Beach, we also ate at a roof top restaurant, walked along the beach, and just relaxed.  It was too cold for swimming, but we found plenty to do (www.hamptonbeach.org) .

The biggest daytrip of this vacation was to Boston.  We chose to walk the Freedom Trail and visit the New England Aquarium.   This trip took a bit more planning, but was worth the effort.  A family member suggested we park our vehicle at the airport and take the “T” (subway system) everywhere we needed to go.  It saved major hassles of trying to find parking.  The subway system is color coded and relatively easy to navigate, even for newbies (www.mbta.com).  The Freedom Trail is a 2.5 mile trail that takes you to 16 historical sites of the American Revolution (www.thefreedomtrail.org).  I am a history buff and absolutely LOVED every minute of this self-guided tour!!  The second event for us was the New England Aquarium.  It is four floors of beautiful sea life – I could stare at the animals all day long!  Exhibits include an extensive penguin habitat, seals, stingrays, and even sharks – too many varieties to list! (www.neaw.org)

I could talk family vacations all day! I welcome any and all questions and comments, please feel free to message me below!
